Writing Update

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 15, 2009, 2:16 PM
Hello! I can't believe I haven't updated this thing since way back in August. :P Some of you might be wondering what I've been up to. School mostly, but I have finished up a Star Trek fanfic on FF.net, and it turned out all right. I was quite proud of myself for writing such a long piece. It's longer than my Norribeth fics! Speaking of Norribeth, don't worry, I haven't forgotten my promise to write something else. I have an interesting story in mind that I haven't started on, but I'm planning to get on it as soon as NaNoWriMo is over. Unfortunately, NaNo is in full swing right now, and considering I'm about 3,000 words behind where I should be, I don't think I'll be able to get much more writing out.

I also wanted to share with all of you another writing related project I'm working on. I'm in a creative writing class at uni, and for our exam we're creating a portfolio. I'm going to submit a few short stories and some poetry, some of which I've written, and some of which are still in my head. Once that's done and turned in, I'd really like to share the poetry with all of you. I've never been much of a poet, but I feel really happy and proud of how my poetry has turned out so far. The theme of the portfolio is the "hidden things" in life; the events that go on in other people's lives that we never get to see. It's really a collection of poignant, interesting moments. So, you have that to look forward to if that sort of thing interests you.

Thanks for all the faves and comments in the past few months! It's always nice to have people comment on your work several months after you put it up. It let's me know that people are still interested. :)

As some of you may know I am getting on a plane in about 2 hours to go on holiday with my family to New York City. We'll be gone from now till this coming Thursday, and although I am taking my laptop along I'm not entirely sure how much writing I'll actually get done or posted. I might be able to promise one update to "A Series of Steps" and definitely a lot of NY photos when I get back.

To be honest, "A Series of Steps" will probably be wrapping up fairly soon. My goal is to have it all up by the time I leave for university in a few weeks as once school stars I have a feeling you all will see a lot less of me.

1) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince knocked my socks off. I'm seeing it again this weekend for sure, and you should too. *le nod*

2) Thanks to everyone who has been reading "A Series of Steps". I'm not entirely sure if it's as popular as "A Series of Firsts", but if people are reading it I'll keep writing.

Hi everyone!

I've just got instant messaging set up on my new compy, and I'm looking for some people to chat with. Addresses from A-Uers would be lovely as it seems I've lost all the ones I had from before. Not sure how many people still use that thing, but I thought I'd give it a shot. If you don't feel like posting it in the comments then you can always send me a note.

So, A Series of Firsts is finally finished, and I have no idea where to go with my writing life now. I have this idea churning in my head for a WWII novel, but I think I'm going to save that for NaNoWriMo 09 since its an original piece of work. I've also gotten a lot of feedback on FF.net for a Star Trek fic I posted. Perhaps I'll continue with that if a plot bunny decides to attack soon. Otherwise, I think I'm taking a break. :P
